Mini-Guide To Vienna

Enjoying its status as the capital of Austria, Vienna is one of the most fascinating and beautiful cities you could ever hope to visit. History is big in Vienna, since the area now known as the city, has been inhabited since the year 500 BC, when it was a settlement for Celtic people. Vienna has a population of fewer than 2 million, which makes it a compact and easy city in which to find your way around. There is also an excellent transport system, with a very comprehensive bus and tram network and the rail network is also very good, with all major European cities within easy reach as well as good links to the airport. The climate in Vienna is temperate, although the winters can be quite cold. However, the ambience of the markets, the sumptuous food and the cafes which offer tantalisingly decadent cakes will warm your heart.
