Air Canada to improve services on European flights

Friday 13 Feb 2009 4:06pm

International airline Air Canada has announced that it plans to install new cabin interiors on all of its aircraft operating flights to European destinations. The improved facilities will include lie-flat bed suites in the first class cabin and access to personal in-flight entertainment systems for all of the airline's passengers. The new facilities will be available to passengers on Air Canada services – including flights from London Heathrow Airport to Calgary – which will also be operated by a new aircraft. Passengers travelling with Air Canada in North America will also benefit from a wider range of connections this year with the launch of new non-stop flights from Calgary to San Diego; Portland, Oregon; London, Ontario and Whitehorse, Yukon. Vice-president of the Calgary Airport Authority Stephan Poirier said: 'Air Canada's choice to expand its extensive Calgary network with new non-stop destinations, and the addition of the B-777 aircraft on the Calgary-London Heathrow route, reflects the essential role Calgary plays in the western Canada travel network. ' Air Canada operates flights to more than 170 destinations on five continents and is based in the Canadian city of Montreal.
