Etihad Airways preparing for a busy summer

Friday 14 Aug 2009 7:41am

Etihad Airways is readying itself for its busiest summer yet by encouraging passengers to be fully prepared for their trips. To ensure that flights remain as punctual as possible, Etihad has urged its customers to prepare for each stage of their journey and, if possible, to use of online check-in facilities. The carrier has so far this year produced an enviable record with 89 per cent of its flights operating within 15 minutes of their scheduled departure time. Etihad will be attempting to maintain that record during what could be its busiest summer ever, with new flights being launched to destinations including Athens, Istanbul and Larnaca. 'The summer is the busiest period for any airline and Etihad Airways is anticipating 2009 to be our busiest ever, especially with the new Mediterranean destinations of Athens, Istanbul and Larnaca set to join our global flight network,' said Captain Richard Hill, the airline's chief operations officer. Etihad will also be expanding its network in the United States this year when it launches new flights from Abu Dhabi to Chicago.
