The Abu Dhabi-based carrier Etihad Airways was named the world's leading airline at the grand final of this year's World Travel Awards, which took place at Grosvenor House in London yesterday (8 November). Ethiad also scooped the award for first class services. easyJet scored the leading budget operator accolade, while Qatar Airways was voted the world's best business class carrier Virgin Atlantic received an award for its transatlantic flights. The world's leading destination award was given to London, while Doha was named the best emerging business location and the Burj Al Arab in Dubai was voted the world's leading hotel.
