East Midlands Airport promotes summer destinations to Asia

East Midlands Airport will showcase its range of summer destinations at a travel show at the Birmingham NEC this weekend. The airport will promote its new connections to India, which will begin when bmi launches its new flight schedule to Brussels that will run Sunday to Friday. From Brussels, travellers can access connections to Indian destinations such as Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai and Delhi. bmibaby is also launching new flights to Almeria and Menorca from East Midlands Airport, while Eastern Airways is adding a new service to Oslo, via Aberdeen Airport. Marketing director of East Midlands, Airport Caroline Plant, said: 'We are delighted to be exhibiting at one of the most high-profile travel shows and are excited about the great routes and offers we have in store for our customers in 2009. 'As well as the welcomed addition of the popular Mediterranean routes of Almeria and Mahon, we are pleased to be extending our long haul offering with our new regular connection to India. ' Last year, East Midlands Airport recorded a record year, serving more than 5. 6 million passengers.
