Emirates to get their first A380 superjumbo

Tuesday 03 Jun 2008 11:31am

Singapore Airlines have two Airbus A380 superjumbos in operation and Dubai based Emirates airline will soon be joining the exclusive and small club of Airbus A380 owners when they take delivery of their first A380 in July. The new aircraft is on of 58 new A380's that Emirates have ordered and it is expected to fly the busy Dubai to New York and Heathrow to Sydney routes. With over 489 seats, the plane can comfortably fit 14 passengers in first class, 76 in business class and 399 in economy class. The plane has a double-deck giving it large capacity so that even economy passengers are able to have more space and comforts that traditionally found. Passengers all around the world have been subjected to fuel charges in recent months with even big airlines such as British Airways not having any choice but to put to fuel surcharges to help cover the increasing cost of fuel. The Airbus A380 superjumbo has remarkable fuel efficiency for its size - helping the environment and keeping costs down for both airlines and passengers. The A380 is expected to be key in helping Emirates reach its growth targets over the coming years as demand remains strong for aircraft travel around the world. For passengers, the A380 has had extremely good reviews and commendations across all seat classes.
