Mini-Guide To Melbourne

Melbourne is, like so many other Australian cities, a city which is dynamic, full of vitality and energy, and yet it also has a very unique identity and flavour. It has a real sense of style, with elegant dining, a thriving arts scene, as well as some wonderful shops, with Melbourne enjoying a reputation as the best place to shop in Australia. Despite the fact that it is located on the south eastern part of Australia it is very much a city which looks outwards. It is the second largest city in Australia with almost 3.5 million people, it is a city which is very relaxed and with a convivial atmosphere. Enjoying a low crime rate, Melbourne is a multi cultural city which is also very global in its outlook. For three times now it has been recognised as one of the top cities in which to live, not just in Australia, but in the world. Melbourne has money, excellent social conditions, a renowned transport system and a healthy community. It is also a real centre for both commerce and industry and with some excellent sporting venues, there really is something which will excite and satisfy travellers, whatever their tastes.
