Mini-Guide To Vancouver

Vancouver is a wonderful city. It is the 3rd largest in Canada and enjoys all the facilities and services you would expect from a coastal based city which is an extremely popular tourist destination. Vancouver really is a melting pot of cultures, with around 43 percent of Vancouver's residents having a language other than English! However, this has resulted in a city which really is multi-cultural and is vibrant, with a real pulse and energy to it. Add into this the mild climate (in winter, the temperature is quite mild, with only a couple of days per year where the temperature is 10 celsius or so, otherwise, winters are relatively temperate). In summer the average days are sunny with a comfortable 25 celsius or so.

Local Airports In Vancouver

Within the boundaries of the city, the population is around half a million and with such a diverse range of people it really does have an air of being very cosmopolitan. This is reflected in the restaurants, where you can eat almost any type of food from all over the world. There are lots of different dining facilities on offer, from quick and quite cheap, to fabulous and sumptuous dining experiences; the choice really is yours. Some of the best restaurants are to be found in the fabulous Chinatown or the downtown area of Gastown, which is a really exciting and interesting neighbourhood in which to spend time and have a drink or a great meal. Some of the restaurants, such as the Salty Tongue Urban Deli, have fascinating names and when inside, you will find that the food is equally as fascinating! You should also check out the Lost Lagoon which is a wonderful centre for wildlife and some great walks. When in Chinatown you should also try to take in one of the evening markets, known as the Night markets, which take place in the summer. There is also a very cultural side to Vancouver, with it being home to a variety of galleries and museums. The Vancouver Maritime Museum is a nautical museum which is extremely interesting and the Science Center is a very inter-active museum which is great for the whole family. The Queen Elizabeth Theatre also plays host to some spectacular shows and dramas so make sure that you take in a performance when in town. Sports lovers will also be delighted by Vancouver. Since it is so close to the mountains and ocean, as well as lakes, there are so many watersports to do, it is almost impossible to list them all. There are also some great beaches for those who like their holidays a little more relaxed. All in all Vancouver is simply the ideal destination for everyone. It is also great for people who like the countryside, since basically Vancouver sits on the edge of some stunningly beautiful countryside. In addition, you will be assured of a friendly welcome, some brilliant memories to treasure and the knowledge that you will probably return, because most people do, time after time!
