Middle Eastern airline Oman Air will launch an additional flight to its current schedule of flights from Gatwick Aiport to Muscat this month. The new service will operate every Sunday from October 26th, and will bring the airline's number of weekly flights to seven. This fulfils the ambition to offer daily flights between Muscat and Gatwick Airport. Airbus A310 aircraft will operate on the service, with passengers being offered both business and economy class seats. Oman Air has also announced plans to increase the number of flights between Muscat and Bangkok to six flights weekly. The airline currently operates a fleet of ten Boeing 737s and two Airbus A310 aircraft, servicing 27 destinations worldwide. According to the Civil Aviation Authority air passenger survey, some 137 million people travelled from Heathrow Airport, Gatwick Airport, Stansted Airport and Luton Airport to destinations across the world in 2007.
