The Tirol skiing region's tourist board in Austria has confirmed that there has been 110cm of fresh snowfall on the Hintertux glacier, creating what it has described as 'excellent' skiing conditions. According to the Tirol Tourist Board, all ski runs and lifts have been opened to tourists enjoying skiing holidays in the Hintertux area. All five glaciers located in the Tirol region: the Kaunertal, Pitztal, Solden-Otztal, Stubai and Hintertux are now open for the duration of the winter season. Visitors to the region will be able to buy ten-day combined lift passes for 298 Euros (£240), which are valid from October to June. These passes also enable 'glacier-hopping' between the Tirol's five main skiing areas. Tourist accommodation in the region ranges from wooden lodges and farmhouses, to four and five-star hotels. Innsbruck in Austria and Munich in southern Germany are just two of the destinations that easy access to the Tirol region for holidaymakers.
