Insurance no longer included in quoted Ryanair airfares

Tuesday 05 May 2009 8:34am

From today, Ryanair will not automatically include insurance in their prices when customers book flights through their website. This means that customers will now have the option to add travel insurance as an extra for an additional charge, rather than having to remove it from their booking if it is not required. Sinead Finn from Ryanair commented: 'We urge passengers to pay urgent attention when booking their flights from April 2. It will be each passenger's responsibility to buy travel insurance for their trip. ' It has been reported that Ryanair's travel insurance can be more expensive than travel insurance from other providerss, although Ms Finn highlighted that Ryanair's travel insurance covers 'everything from costly medical treatment to cancellations and lost luggage'.
