Ryanair warns of potential losses and cheap tickets for passengers

Monday 28 Jul 2008 11:13am

With fuel costs still extremely high, Ryanair has announced that it could make a loss this year of £48 million (about 60 millions Euros). With an economic downturn underway, customers are also cutting back on flying and this combined with increased fuel costs is resulting in many airlines struggling. However, for passengers this is not all bad news. Airlines are now using aggressive pricing to undercut competitors and these lower costs mean cheaper flights and holidays! Several airlines have announced they will cut flights over the winter period with easyJet citing the economic climate and high fuel costs which are denting any potential profits. Airlines are using other ways to increase income and anyone looking to travel with any budget airlines should be warned that they now often charge for checking in at airports, food on the plane, and even for each item of hold luggage.
