Clickair allows pets on planes

Wednesday 28 Jan 2009 8:13am

Spanish no-frills airline Clickair has become the first European airline to permit pets to travel in its cabins on domestic and international flights. From July 2009, dogs, cats and rabbits weighing no more than 17lb 'may travel in a suitable crate placed at the feet of their owners', subject to local regulations. However, if you intend to travel with your pet, you must ensure that you have obtained the appropriate pet passport, made sure your pet has had a Rabies vaccination and been microchipped, and that you have sought further travel advice. Fees for Clickair's pet travel will be charged at £19 for domestic Spanish flights and £33 for international flights.
