Ryanair website to be offline February 16th to 18th

Monday 11 Feb 2008 7:16am

In 2007, the office of Fair Trading set an initial deadline of July 31st 2007 as the date that all airlines should show fares and prices including of taxes and charges. Many airlines including easyJet, Flybe, Wizz Air, Germanwings, centralwings, SkyEurope, ThomsonFly, Monarch, Jet2 and FlyGlobespan did comply with this deadline. Ryanair also missed the initial deadline and a 31st January 2008 deadline that OFT agreed with the airline. Between February 16th and 11:59pm on February 18th, the Ryanair website will go offline and be unavailable for bookings while the airline implements the necessary changes so that all prices show inclusive of taxes and charges. A spokesman from OFT said [quote] "We are very disappointed Ryanair has not met the agreed date of January 31 for changing its website". Ryanair blamed technical difficulties for failing to comply with the previous deadlines.
