Lufthansa sees increase in passengers for January

Thursday 28 Feb 2008 9:18pm

German airline Lufthansa has released its traffic figures for 2007 which reveal that more British people used the airline than the previous year. A staggering 3. 7 million Brits flew with Lufthansa last year - a rise of 1. 6% compared to the previous year. Lufthansa is a traditional airline providing the full service - not a cheap flight carrier like Ryanair or easyJet. The airline provides a variety of flights from some of the UK's bigger airports including Birmingham and Bristol - and also Dublin in mainland Ireland. Lufthansa's routes across Europe and also to America and Asia are still in demand from travellers. Marianna Sammann from the airline said in a statement [quote] "It proves that huge numbers of travellers still want the added value they receive from a full service airline". There is still a large proportion of travellers that want a full service onboard with meals, and an all inclusive price rather than having to pay for extras such as luggage. In a recent survey by Business Traveller Deutschland, Lufthansa was ranked in the top ten "business class travel" category.
