easyJet announce major expansion at Belfast Airport

Sunday 05 Aug 2007 2:51pm

easyJet have announced four new routes from its Belfast International base. The new routes are: Belfast to Barcelona, Belfast to Prague, Belfast to Gdansk and Belfast to Venice. Its expected that over 140,000 people will fly on these new routes in the first 12 months. These new routes bring easyJet destinations to 24 from Belfast International Airport. The airline has also increased how often they fly to both Krakow and Paris - with Krakow increasing to 5 flights a week and Paris to 8 flights a week. Historically, travellers from Belfast had to endure flights changes at London airports in order to fly to Europe. easyJet and Ryanair have made direct cheap flights to Europe a possibility and demand looks to continue to increase in the future. easyJet have been offering flights from Belfast International Airport since 1998 and have carried 20 million passengers in that time.
