London to Moscow flights doubled by bmi

Monday 15 Sep 2008 7:27am

Airline bmi will be offering double the number of flights from Heathrow Airport to Moscow this winter. Bmi announced that it will now operate two flights from London to the Russian capital every day to build on the success of its once daily service, launched in October 2006. With the 'best business cabin available', bmi is expecting business class travellers to make particularly good use of the new flight. The cabin's features will include comfortable leather seats with a 50-inch pitch – that's 16 inches more than any other airline with business class facilities on the route offers. Managing director of bmi Peter Spencer said: 'We have been planning to launch additional services between London and Moscow for some time, so are delighted to realise our ambition. 'Since launching the route nearly two years ago we have experienced strong growth and feel introducing an extra return flight combined with our market leading business class cabin we can offer business customers a real alternative. ' The new daily flights represent the extension of the commercial agreement between bmi and Russian airline Transaero Airlines, with the operators providing four flights between London and Moscow each day.
