Monday 28 May 2007 1:54pm

Bristol Airport looks to grow soon with Ryanair announcing that its opening a hub at the airport with 13 new destinations from Bristol airport to destinations around Europe. Two new Boeing 737-800 planes are being bought to base at the airport making Bristol the 20th base for Ryanair. Starting in November 2007, Ryanair are optimistic that they will carry one million passengers via the Airport in 2008, and double that to two million passengers in 2009. The 13 new destinations are: - Daily flights to Derry in Ireland and Milan Orio Al serio. - Four times a week to Budapest, Knock in Ireland and Wroclaw in Poland - Three times a week to Dinard in France, Bratislave in Slovakia, Porto in Portugal, Poznan in Poland, Ruga in Latvia and Katowice in Poland - Twice a week to Salzburg in Austria and Rzeszow in Poland Peter Sherrard from Ryanair said that the airline's expansion at the airport to extend their three existing and profitable routes ties in with Bristol being a good marketing with some of the fastest growing income levels in the UK. Easyjet are currently the biggest airline at the airport. Flying Abroad thoughts: More competition is always good for passengers - giving them ultimately lower airfare prices as the cheap flight airlines battle it out for customers.
