Saturday 05 Jan 2008 7:45am

Starting on 1st July 2008, British Airways will start a daily service between London Gatwick Airport and Paphos in Cyrpus. This service is in addition to the existing daily London Heathrow to Larnaca in Cyprus service. Paphos is a historic harbour town which was the capital of Cyprus in Roman times and currently have many spectacular beaches and historical attractions. Cyprus is a popular destination with UK travellers and a BA spokesperson said that they anticipate the new service being well received in both the UK and Cyprus. Cyprus and neighbouring Malta both officially adopted the Euro as their main currency from January 2008 which is expected to make the Mediterranean island more appealing to UK and European travellers.
