Bmi now in a prime position at Heathrow Airport

Saturday 14 Feb 2009 10:31am

British airline Bmi has announced that it is now in 'prime position' at London's Heathrow Airport after securing the advertising space on the roundabout that leads to the airport's terminals one, two and three. A new 37-metre-long, 3. 8-metre-high sign has been installed in the space and reads: 'The home of bmi'. The newly acquired promotion is expected to be seen by more than 100 million travellers and airport visitors a year. Bmi's managing director Peter Spencer said that the new sign represents the airline's long-term presence and experience at Heathrow Airport, which has helped it achieve one of the industry's best punctuality records. Mr Spencer added: 'Our excellent on-time performance is a core part of our customer offering along with the ability to travel speedily through the airport. 'Since the recent moves at Heathrow, Terminal 1 now handles 14 million passengers (compared to 23 million at its peak in 2007), which means our customers can get through Heathrow without any unnecessary delays. ' Bmi offers flights to destinations as diverse as Amsterdam, Johannesburg, Riyadh and Toronto from its base at Heathrow Airport.
