Oman's tourist industry is focusing on attracting summer visitors, according to an industry spokeswoman. UK and Ireland director of the country's tourism ministry, Alison Cryer, highlighted that Oman enjoys the same climate as its neighbour Dubai. Travellers visiting Dubai in the summer can easily make a trip across to Oman and explore the country's mountainous regions, which enjoy a cooler climate in the summer, Ms Cryer said. Ms Cryer also said: 'Its 6000-year history and culture offers over 500 forts, castles and archaeological sites. 'With the tallest mountains in the region, Oman has world-renowned climbing, abseiling into caves and the second-largest underground cavern in the world. ' UK travellers can fly to Oman's capital Muscat with airlines including Oman Air, British Airways and Qatar Airways.
