American Airlines lounges at Heathrow to get revamp

Friday 17 Apr 2009 4:20pm

American Airlines has announced plans to refurbish its Admirals Club and Flagship lounges at London's Heathrow Airport, located in Terminal 3. The renovation work will be completed in stages and is due to be completed in 2010. American Airlines' new Admirals Club lounge will house seating for 230 people and a range of new amenities, including complimentary Wi-Fi access, a cyber cafe and new shower facilities. The renovated Flagship lounge will offer accommodation to some 134 customers, more than twice its current capacity, with the addition of two television areas with flat-panel screens, internet access and other facilities. Admirals Club president for American Airlines, Nancy Knipp, said: 'Enhancing the travel experience for our valued customers is of great importance to American Airlines. 'We are confident that the renovations to Heathrow's Admirals Club and Flagship lounge facilities will further our efforts to better serve members and guests. ' In December last year, American Airlines officially reopened its Flagship lounge at Miami Airport, followed by a new Admirals Club facility at Washington Airport in February.
