Tuesday 08 Apr 2008 8:09am

The George Bush Intercontinental Airport is to get a $1. 2 billion investment to expand its Terminal B from 360,000 to 1. 7 million square feet of space. A new federal inspection facility will be added to cater for the increasing growth of international passengers. Baggage handling facilities will be rebuilt and infrastructure improvements will also be made to roadways, signage, utilities and fuel storage areas. A spokesman for the airport said that the upgrade and investment would allow the airport to handle more passengers, more flights but still provide quality and new amenities for passengers. The construction is expected to take between 7 and 10 years to complete.
