US Airways brings WiFi to airport lounges

Friday 07 Aug 2009 9:15pm

Complimentary Wi-Fi services will soon be available at a number of airport lounges across the US thanks to US airways. Members of the US Airways Club scheme, simply need to insert their frequent flyer programme number to use the service after the airline announced that, in partnership with T-Mobile, it was making free internet access available. Other visitors can request free Wi-Fi access at the lounges where it is available. Airports where the initiative is being launched include Washington, New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Tampa. Wi-Fi access is expected be made available from all other US Airways lounges across the country at some point this summer. Travellers can join the US Airways Club scheme for periods of a year or 90 days, or alternatively opt for a single day pass. The carrier expanded its presence in the UK when it launched a new non-stop service from Birmingham Airport to Philadelphia earlier in the year.
