Flybe goes in search of destination namesakes

Wednesday 15 Oct 2008 8:53am

Flybe has announced that it is searching for people with names such as Ben Becula or Kirk Wall in preparation to launch new flights to Scottish destinations from Glasgow Airport. Flybe will offer a new range of flights from Glasgow Airport to domestic destinations such as Benbecula, Islay, Kirkwall and Stornoway from October 27th as part of an agreement with fellow airline Loganair. The airline is offering the first people to come forward with names matching some of its new regional destinations free return flights and an invitation to the official launch event for the new services. Flybe's chief commercial officer Mike Rutter said: 'We realise our search for these two namesakes might be a bit of a tall order but we are remaining optimistic that there is someone, somewhere, out there! 'We'd also invite anyone else who thinks they might persuade us why their name should be considered as a realistic and creative destination namesake for any other Loganair destination flown from Glasgow, to also take part in this somewhat quirky search. ' Flybe flies to over 190 destinations and serves 12 countries, and claims to be the largest and most successful regional airline in Europe. The airline flies to destinations including Barcelona, Paris and Prague from a number of airports in the UK.
