The National Marine Aquarium is Britain's main aquarium and the deepest one in Europe is located in the Barbican area of the city, which is renowned for its history, including Britain's oldest Bakery. You can also find the Plymouth Gin Distillery in that area. If you are after nightlife, then Union Street has been the centre of it in Plymouth for well over a century. Today you can find a variety of bars, casinos and clubs, along with several live music venues, such as the Barbican Jazz Cafe.
