British Airways business class check in opens at T5

Tuesday 16 September 2008 8:41 AM

A new dedicated check in area for business class travellers has been opened by British Airways in Terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport.

The check in area is situated next to BA's first-class check-in in zone H at the far end of Terminal 5.

British Airways commented that the new check in area would be useful for people with hold luggage or travellers who require customer service assistance, although customers are still advised to use online check-in services for a more time-efficient process.

Terminal 5's customer experience manager Paul Nickson said that T5 has already seen more than seven million customers pass trough its gates.

Mr Nickson added: "We're looking forward to moving a further 30 long-haul flights into the terminal on September 17th.

"This increased capacity means that even more business class customers are flying through Terminal 5 so it's a good time to introduce the dedicated zone."

British Airways’ new service is just the latest in a whole string of developments at Heathrow’s Terminal 5. Also announced this week, mobile phone giant T-Mobile unveiled plans to turn T5 into a Wi-Fi hotspot, providing wireless internet access to customers using smartphones, laptops and personal digital assistants.
