Atlantis resort to open this week in Dubai

Thursday 25 September 2008 7:38 AM

The Palm, owners of a new resort called Atlantis, have announced that has just opened this week.

Atlantis, which will be the first resort to open on the Palm Jumeirah island in Dubai, will be open to tourists in the United Arab Emirates from September 24th.

The resort has some 1,539 rooms and combines the features of a major tourist attraction with the attributes of a luxury hotel.

Atlantis has been described as a "fully integrated entertainment resort" that will "redefine tourism in Dubai" and is located on the crescent of the Palm Jumeirah island.

Attractions will include four celebrity chef restaurants, luxury boutiques, an open-air marine habitat, the biggest water park in the Middle East Aquaventure, a long stretch of beach, a spa and a nightclub.

Holidaymakers can access the resort via a monorail that travels through the centre of the Palm Jumeirah directly to Atlantis or through a six-lane underwater vehicle tunnel
