Sunday 10 October 2010 7:08 PM
Thailand is a popular destination among British tourists because of the low fares and numerous scheduled flights that land in Bankok. Thailand is known to the world as "the Golden Land" for the rich culture, friendliness and generosity of its people. These elements have made Thailand one of the most traveled-to countries in the world.

Thailand boasts a number of markets, such as Bangkok and Chiang Mai where tourists can purchase anything from native crafts and textiles to cutting edge electronics. But the shopping doesn't end when the sun sets because when night comes, Thailand's famous night markets open for business with a completely different selection of wares! Guests to the Chiang Mai Night Bazaar can feast on some of Thailand's most delicious street food from many different purveyors.

For the outdoor enthusiasts, Chaing Mai's tree covered mountain ranges offer gorgeous and scenic trails for hiking. Groups exist for hikers of all levels and trips can run for a few hours to a few days and anywhere in between.

A number of United Kingdom airports, including Birmingham and Cardiff offer affordable flights to Bangkok.
