Singapore Airlines an Airbus A380 and a world first

Sinapore Airlines has today taken delivery of its first, and the world's first Airbus A380 aircraft.

Landing at Singapore's Changi International Airport the aircraft made the journey from Toulouse, France.

The aircraft is due to make its first commercial flight with paying passengers on 25th October on a journey from Singapore to Sydney, Australia.

The Airbus A380 is a remarkable feat of engineering with its double decker design and capability of carrying over 800 people at a time.

This new aircraft is the first of seven aircraft that Singapore Airlines has ordered to purchase with six more due in 2008. The new aircraft are expected to fly between London and Singapore and also long haul destinations to Toyko, Hong Kong and San Francisco.

Tickets for the aircraft's first commercial flight are fetching big money on websites such as eBay.
