Coventry voted best place to fly to avoid queues

Sunday 28 October 2007 9:52 AM
Results from an independent survey by Travel Counsellors (a holiday company) showed that passengers who travel through Coventry Airport had to ensure the shortest wait at security and immigration than any other airport in the UK.

Over the last two months, passengers through the airport had to wait on average, less than 4 minutes to go through security - and at immigration they generally didn't have to wait!

Other of the UK's airports didn't fare as well with Manchester coming out worst. It has the longest queues plus an average delay of 29 minutes.

Birmingham Airport came toward the bottom of the league of 20 with an average wait of 19 minutes to go through immigration.

The news was welcomed by Coventry Airport officials who have invested over £10 million in the airport since January 2006. At present, only Thomson Fly and Wizzair fly from Coventry.
