Cheap flights to Spain Over 25 million passengers cannot be wrong

Tuesday 23 October 2007 1:20 AM
Ryanair started flights to Spain with a Barcelona to Frankfurt route in December 2002.

The airline has just announced that over 25 million passengers have flown to and from Spain since it started just less than 5 years ago.

Michael O'Leary, CEO of Ryanair said " big thank you to the 25 million passengers who have made our Spanish flights such a success. In less than 5 years we have brought Europe’s lowest fares to 18 airports, covering every region of Spain".

The Catalonia area of Spain has enjoyed the biggest growth with Girona and Reus proving the most popular with almost 13 million passengers flying through these airports alone.

In 2008, Ryanair expects to carry over 11 million passengers from its 18 Spanish airports to over 170 destinations across Europe.

Ryanair also announced they will start 14 new routes from Girona at the beginning of November 2007.
