Air Berlin scraps domestic UK flights

Friday 12 October 2007 12:06 PM
Rising fees for take-off and landing at British airports has caused Air Berlin to scrap its domestic flights within the UK.

The existing London Stansted to Glasgow, Manchester and Belfast will stop operating.

Air Berlin will still continue to operate a Germany to London and Manchester service.

With rising cost prices, the domestic routes don't make economic sense for the airline with rivals easyJet and Ryanair giving fierce competition.
