Oneworld to make five additions to its network this year

The oneworld airline alliance will expand its international flight network with two new destinations in Asia and three in Brazil.

BA is will help boost the oneworld network this year with the launch of new flights from Heathrow Airport to Hyderabad in December.

Hyderabad will be the alliance's sixth Indian destination, joining Bangalore, Calcutta, Chennai, Delhi, and Mumbai.

Other oneworld airlines to launch new routes include American Airlines, which will begin operations from Miami to the Brazilian destinations of Belo Horizonte, Recife and Salvador in November, and Japan Airlines, which will launch new services to Mount Fuji Shizuoka Airport when the airport opens in 2009.

The winter season will also see upgrade a number of services for oneworld carriers, offering more convenient connections for passengers.

Forthcoming developments include new British Airways services from London Gatwick to New York JFK, daily Finnair flights from Helsinki to Hong Kong and the resumption of Qantas services from Sydney to Buenos Aires.
