Ryanair want to offer free flights all the time

Chief Executive of Ryanair, Michael O'Leary announced yesterday the ultimate ambition of Ryanair.

The airline wants to offer flights where the ticket price is free for all flights.

Low cost airlines operate on very low margins for each filled seat on flights - in a region of only a few pounds or Euros per ticket sold.

However, the additional services such as in-flight drinks and food and services such as car rental and travel insurance. Airlines currently earn an estimate £1 in every £5 from these additional services.

Michael O'Leary also announced more changes in these services where the check-in charges will increase from £2 to £4, and charges for those wanting to put any luggage in the hold will stay in place.

The cost-cutting and charging for additional services has helped boost Ryanair's pre-tax profits for the first six months of this year to £320 million - an increase of over 20%.
