Regional airports see growth as London gets more congested

The CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) said in their recent report that passenger numbers per year have exceeded 100 million through regional airports alone - with airlines taking up the demand that the bigger airport haven't got the capacity to cope with.

Across the whole of the UK from Scotland to Wales, passengers can now travel to many destinations across Europe from their local airport regardless of where they live.

In the past, passengers were limited to certain countries from local/regional airports and only major airports offered a comprehensive set of possible destinations.

With low cost carriers such as Flybe, bmibaby and Wizz Air opening up to literally hundreds of European destinations, regional airports are enjoying the success!
