Emirates orders 143 new planes

Earlier today, Emirates Airline announced what is one of the biggest civil aviation aircraft orders in history made at one time.

At the Dubai Airshow, contracts were signed for 120 Airbus A350s, 11 Airbus A380s and 12 Boeing 777-300s - a total deal of over $30 Billion USD.

2014 is the date the first A350s are scheduled to be delivered to Emirates, and the Airbus A380 orders now take the total confirmed orders for the new double-decker aircraft to 58 from Emirates Airline alone.

The United-Arab Emirates (UAE) and Dubai is an extremely fast growing centre of commerce and the Emirates orders (now stands at 246 aircraft in total which have been ordered, but not yet delivered) further strengthens the airline's committment and belief in Dubai as a important hub in the future.
