British Airways BA announce half year results

Friday 2 November 2007 12:18 PM
British Airways have today announced their interim results for the six month period to 30th September 2007.

Pre-tax profits for the six month period were £556 million (UK Pounds), with operating margins of 12.5%.

In the last six months the airline has placed orders for 36 new aircraft - for both Airbus A380 and Boeing 787 aircraft.

The airline is looking forward to the opening of Heathrow Terminal 5 in March 2008, which will give increased capacity and easier and quicker check-in facilities for passengers. The new terminal is expected to be a flagship for the UK with the up-coming 2012 Olympics in London.

BA are estimating fuel costs for the 12 month period to be £2 billion.
