100th plane delivered to Emirates

Friday 9 November 2007 12:00 PM
Emirates Airline has received delivery of its 100th passenger aircraft - a Boeing 777-300.

The airline is enjoying strong growth, strong profits and high demand for its seats on the routes that it flies.

On average, Emirates are adding one new aircraft a month to its fleet and it also has 45 other Boeing 777 aircraft on order.

A spokes person from the airline said that with the high demand of passengers wanting to fly to Dubai, the airline is growing faster than the already fast growth it anticipated back in 2003.

Dubai is an important centre for Emirates with the airline looking to provide more direct long-haul flights to North America and South America.

Emirates has also taken delivery of one of the first double decker Airbus A380 aircraft and has 55 more on order. In total, the airline has 111 aircraft on order or waiting to be delivered.
