Monday 24 May 2010 10:16 AM
EasyJet is now offering flights from Manchester Airport to Sharm el Sheikh in Egypt.

The launch of the new route was announced via the promotion of a sponsorship of the youthful scuba diver Marc Oliver Williams, providing all his travel fares in order for him to gain his diving qualifications.

Easyjet provides three flights a week on this new route, with the ability to add more depending on the popularity of the route.

Andrew Harrison, commercial director of Manchester Airport, says  that Egypt is on it's way to becoming one of the most popular destinations for people living and travelling from the north of England.

EasyJet also offers flights to Menorca and Zurich from Manchester.
