New inflight entertainment on Belfast to New York flights

Friday 29 May 2009 7:25 AM

US-based airline, Continental Airlines, has introduced a new in-flight entertainment system to customers in its economy passengers on flights from Belfast to New York.

The in-flight system has been available in Continental's business class cabins since early 2007 and has now been installed in economy across the fleet of Boeing 757s that operates the New York service.

Economy passengers can now use facilities including a Berlitz World Traveller programme that teaches foreign languages, and play a selection of 20 video games.

The system, which is customer-controlled, also offers a choice of up to 25 movies, 25 television shows and 50 music CDs.

Northern Ireland area sales manager for Continental, Barry Jackson, said: "Passengers will find this new entertainment experience much more user-friendly.

"Our passengers in BusinessFirst really enjoy the new system and we are sure our economy class passengers will too."

In other news, it was recently reported that Las Vegas, Miami and Orlando are the most popular onward destinations for customers on Continental's flights to New York.
