Icelandic airline, Icelandair, has revealed a new schedule of flights from Glasgow Airport to Reykjavik from August 27th to November 8th this year.

The airline will operate twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays, to give travellers the opportunity to take long weekend breaks in Iceland.

Icelandair also offers onward connections to a number of destinations in North America from Reykjavik Airport, including New York, Orlando and Toronto.

Hjorvar Saeberg Hognason, an Icelandair spokesman, said: "We are pleased to return to Glasgow with these special flights and hope that our customers in Scotland take advantage of visiting Iceland at this exciting time of the year.

"It's a great time to experience Iceland's beautiful autumn colours and catch cool events like the Iceland Airwaves music festival."

In other news, Icelandair recently promoted a number of sporting events in Iceland over the coming months, including the Laugavegur Ultra Marathon on 18 July and the Reykjavik Marathon on 22 August.
