20 years of cheap flights from Liverpool

Ryanair has today celebrated 20 years of flights from Liverpool Airport.

Dublin to Liverpool was the first flights operated in May 1998 and today the airline offers 38 routes from across Europe to Liverpool - giving passengers an incredible number of opportunities for weekend breaks or trips to get away to the sun.

The airline is expected to fly over 2 million passengers through the Liverpool Airport in the next 12 months and its expected that the airline will add new destinations for passengers over the next year too.

Ryanair claims that its low fares and reliable services have made the airport more popular and allowing it to continue to expand the services offered from the airport.

Ryanair were one of the first airlines to offer low-cost/budget flights and were the first to offer these type flights from Liverpool.  Other airlines since, including its biggest competitor easyJet also provide flights from the airport.

Passengers have benefited from better facilities at the airport with the investment at the airport by Ryanair and as Liverpool is now one of the airlines major European bases.
