In March 2007, Flybe took over the Isle of Man to Gatwick route from BA Connect. Since this date, they have been passenger numbers increase by over 17% in April with the better numbers looking to remain consistent for months to come.Mike Rutter of Flybe said [quote] "'When we took over BA Connect's services on the Isle of Man we said the acquisition would enable us to build a bigger and stronger airline, increase opportunities to develop routes and encourage further business to the area. In just one month we have turned an ailing route into a successful one."
