Web savvy Brits using internet for travel issues and foreign money

Wednesday 25 March 2009 9:58 AM

New research suggests that more and more British travellers are using the internet to resolve travel issues before they leave.

This research, by FairFX.com, has noted that an increasing number of travellers are using foreign currency exchanges on the internet.

Airport parking and hotels can also be resolved in advance on the internet.

FairFX.com’s chief executive, Stephen Heath, said: "What we are finding in this recessionary environment - as is the case with low cost air fares or travel insurance – is that people are looking to the internet for price comparisons as opposed to the traditional methods of buying currency.

"It seems that more and more people are using the internet to deal with their travel money needs in advance, before they go away."

Greenbee.com published research earlier this year that found 34 per cent of Brits spent a whole day searching online for their perfect holiday.
