Finnair announces extra Tokyo flights

Saturday 28 March 2009 9:13 AM
Finland’s national airline, Finnair, has announced that it will operate additional flights to Tokyo during its summer schedule of flights.

Finnair will run three extra weekly flights to Tokyo from the Finnish capital Helsinki. This will see Finnair offer seven services per week from June to September.

The new flights will leave from Helsinki on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, with return services from Tokyo on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

A spokesman from Finnair claimed that the additional connections were designed to coincide with the demand from the Japanese group travel market, which sees its peak in Finland and Scandinavia between June and September.

In other Finnair news, the airline announced this week that it will offer three new weekly return flights from Helsinki to New York as part of its expanded summer schedule.

The timings of the new services have been designed to allow connections to destinations served by Finnair in Asia, including Delhi, Beijing, Hong Kong and Seoul.
