Friday 7 March 2008 12:46 AM
Irish based cheap flight airline Ryanair have announced their passenger statistics for February 2008 - and also the previous 12 months.

With many new routes being added to the airline's network, and Ryanair opening up more bases through Europe (including Edinburgh), the airline has scope for carrying a huge number of passengers.

In the 12 months to the end of February, the airline carried over 50.21 million passengers around Europe.

The number of passengers flying in the month was 3.84 million - up 20% compared to the same time last year.

Load factor, which represents the number of booked seats on each flight (including passengers who may pay, but not turn up) dropped by 2% to 75% compared to the same time last year. This figure is seasonal and increases at peak time such as summer holidays and christmas.
