Passengers buy 1 million pounds of Monarch tickets using Paypal

After allowing customers to pay using Paypal last year, Monarch has just reached the target of having sold over £1 million of tickets online.

By being the first European airline to offer this new internet payment method, It was unclear as to how the public would react.

Liz Savage from Monarch said [quote] "We are delighted to have reached £1 million-worth of sales so quickly through our association with PayPal...“We are still the only European airline to offer the PayPal payment option and since launch back in October 2007 sales have grown significantly".

Ironically, to pay by Paypal is involves a credit card and more steps than just paying by credit card - but many customers are still using the Paypal route for this tickets.

Passengers having bought Monarch tickets using Paypal can change existing bookings, upgrade bookings and even add passengers to their booking int eh same way that existing customers can.

Monarch has been voted "Airline of the Year" in recent prestigious industry awards.

Monarch is the UK's largest charter airline offering flights to Europe, the USA, India and Africa.
