Eastern Airways launches new routes from Newcastle

Tuesday 4 March 2008 11:20 PM
Regional carrier Eastern Airways has announced new services from Newcastle Airport in North-East England.

The airline is expanding its services to and from the Newcastle Airport with increased number of flights each week on certain routes as well as new routes.

From March 3rd, the number of daily flights from Newcastle to Aberdeen will increase from five to six. The number of flights from Southampton to Newcastle will increase to four a day.

A new route of Cardiff to Newcastle will also start on April 7th with three flights each weekday and two new services from Newcastle to Stavanger in Norway.

A spokesman for Eastern Airways said [quote] "Business commuters want punctual, convenient flights specifically timed to suit their travel patterns and our increased services from Newcastle enable us to provide a comprehensive schedule to meet their needs and expectations".

Eastern Airways is quite unique amongst budget airlines in that it doesn't charge for hold-luggage - unlike airlines such as Aer Lingus, Ryanair and easyjet who charge £6 or more per item of hold luggage.
