Partial climb down over Norwich Airport Development Fees

Saturday 31 March 2007 9:01 PM
The Norwich Airport development fee (ADF) drew controversy when it was announced earlier this month.

The £3 per passenger tax goes towards a £18 million programme to develop the airport.

There was criticism from passengers when it was announced that any flights booked prior to March 12th would have to pay the tax restrospectively - and passengers wouldn't be able to board their flight unless they paid the tax.

Families who had booked their flights earlier this year, could have been charged another £12 on top of what they had already paid.

In a partial climb-down, Norwich Airport announced that passengers who booked their flights prior to March 12 will be able to claim a refund of the £3 per passenger. However, they would still have to pay it first, and then reclaim the amount afterwards once they come back on their return journey.

Flying Abroad's thoughts.... I wonder how many people will be able unable to find their ADF ticket when returning after their holiday?
